Dr Clare Fraser specialises in neuro-ophthalmology, strabismus and electrodiagnostics.
Clare completed her medical degree (MBBS – Hons) and Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmology Research (MMed) and is a Fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
She completed her ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital and neuro-ophthalmic training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology, London. She completed a research fellowship at Emory Eye Centre, Atlanta and was a consultant neuro-ophthalmologist for Moorfields Eye Hospital and Kings College Hospital, London.
She is now an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, and consults at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney Eye Hospital, Sydney Ophthalmic Specialists, Macquarie University Hospital and Gordon Eye Surgery. She has ongoing research projects in optic neuritis, multiple sclerosis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension and ocular electrodiagnostics.
She holds several National and International committee positions. Clare has published in peer-reviewed journals, and written several book chapters. She is a reviewer for Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology and The American Journal of Ophthalmology. Her research was awarded an Ophthalmic Institute of Australia grant and has won several international awards.
