SSI delivers 27th annual Registrar Conference and Teaching Course

Last week, Save Sight Institute welcomed around 100 Registrar’s for the collaborative 27th Annual Registrar’s Conference and Teaching Course. This year’s theme was Uveitis.
Hosted by Professor Peter McCluskey and Professorial Senior Registrar Dr. Alex Hamilton, the attending registrars heard from expert guest speakers including Professor Sue Lightman, Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at UCL/Institute of Ophthalmology and consultant Ophthalmologist at Moorefield’s Eye Hospital.
The programme was stimulating, interactive and practical.
Topics covered included:
- Overview of uveitis
- Anterior uveitis
- Intermediate uveitis and posterior uveitis
- Infective uveitis and neoplasia
- Surgery in a uveitic patient
- Uveitis in children
The intensive four day programme ran each day from 8.30am until around 5.00pm.
Parallel sessions were delivered and a trade exhibit was in place where orthoptic suppliers were able to present their products and innovations to the registrars.
