Sara Evans will swim continuously for 12 hours on Sunday 29th November 2015 to raise money for paediatric eye disease research at the Save Sight Institute in Sydney.
Supported by the Lions Club of Wyoming, with major sponsor Mingara Recreation Club, Sara invites all members of the community to join her on this journey towards finding a cure for blinding eye disorders which occur in babies and children.
Every year, thousands of children are diagnosed with a blinding eye disorder or disease. Many of these children and their families face a lifetime of battling blindness and vision loss, with its subsequent impacts on quality of life.
Researchers are working hard to develop new and improved interventions which have the highest chances of success when implemented before the age of seven. Excellent progress is being made, but with the communities help we can do even more together.
To show your support to Sara Evans, and to support research aimed at giving sight to more children through better treatments and interventions, please visit our donation page or pledge to sponsor Sara’s swim or anyone who volunteers to swim with her.
You can choose to sponsor someone as a flat-rate, or you can sponsor them per minute that they swim. We will be in contact after the event to process your gift. Thank you for being a part of this day and for supporting efforts to save sight.
